What the tracker records
For a page opened in a visible browser tab, we record its path, the server time and an estimated country. We may add one activity indicator after at least ten seconds of visible page time and a browser-reported user interaction. This is an indication of activity, not proof that someone read or understood the content.
We also record whether the browser identifies itself as automated. Automated visits and security scanners can still appear, so the figures are indicative.
Each page gets a fresh random event reference, held only in memory, to associate that single activity update with its page view. It is not reused on another page or visit.
What it does not collect
The tracker does not use public tracking cookies, browser storage or fingerprinting. It does not collect email addresses, names, referring URLs, query strings or the contents of forms. It does not track email opens, identify a particular buyer or calculate unique visitors.
Your IP address is used transiently on our server to estimate country using a local database. The tracker does not store the raw address or send it to a geolocation service. Country can be inaccurate, particularly with VPNs, corporate networks and mobile connections.
To limit abuse, the server also derives short-lived, salted security keys from IP addresses. These are held separately from activity records and are not used to link page views.
The tracker makes no requests to an external analytics service. Our hosting provider may maintain separate access and security logs; the tracker’s retention settings do not control those logs.
Your browser choices and data retention
The tracker respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track when the browser exposes either signal as enabled. Blocking the script does not affect access to the website.
We use a 90-day activity window. Older activity records and expired security keys are removed during routine tracker or dashboard processing.
Access to the activity dashboard is restricted to authorised administrators. Signing into that private dashboard uses a necessary session cookie; ordinary public browsing does not require it.
